AUSTRALIAN EARTHMOVING
13
Albury Wodonga is one of the friendliest and
happiest places we have visited. Located
three hours North of Melbourne, positioned
right on the Victorian and New South Wales
border the fresh air and ever-smiling locals
provide a relaxing, welcoming warmth.
Personifying the towns sociable character
is Bede Hutchinson from Hutchinson Civil.
We were fortunate to spend a day with him
learning his story and about the earthmoving
industry in the area.
Bede grew up in the local area. From the
age of five he remembers tagging along onto
various job sites with his project manager
father Paul Hutchinson. Obsessed with
everything earthmoving, by age thirteen
he started working weekends alongside his
father. After completing his HSC he landed
a job at the largest and most successful civil
engineering and earthmoving company in the
Albury/Wodonga area, A P Delaney & Co Pty
Ltd. Bede was thrilled to secure a position
with one of the region's most reputable
earthmoving companies. Here he completed
his building and construction management
