TENDERS

Scentre Group are currently working on designs
for a master-planned upgrade of Westfield
Doncaster. The project outlines 43,000 square
metres of new retail floor space, and 18,000
square metres of commercial office space to
the north of the site, and enhanced bus and
pedestrian access. An additional 7,430 Car
parking spaces are also proposed. Construction
is estimated at $500 million, with details
confirmed following the completion of the
masterplan.


The Victorian Department of Health and Human
Services is seeking expressions of interest from
the social housing sector and private developers
to participate in joint venture property
development. Selection of a development
partner is still in progress. The partnership will
enable delivery of affordable, mixed housing on
vacant, state owned land throughout Victoria.
The program will start with 52 vacant sites
that run from Melbourne’s western suburbs to


Geelong.

Site works have commenced on Melbourne’s
The Peak development. The development,
located on Latrobe Street and Bennett Lane in
Melbourne City, will see the construction of 177
apartments and retail premises. Developer Vic
Investment Management Group have engaged
Plus Architecture for the design of the 1 and 2

bedroom apartments. Hamilton Marino Builders
are on site with construction to commence in
the near future. Acciona Energy Australia are
currently seeking expressions of interest for
work packages for the construction of
the Kerang Solar Farm on the outskirts of
Kerang in the Gannawarra Shire of Northern
Victoria. Construction is expected to be
completed by the end of 2019, with a project
value of $55 million. 100 hectares will be used
for the farm, and will allow for the expected
capacity of 40 megawatts.

Hutchinson Builders have been awarded the
contract for the new Kingsborough community
Hub in Kingston. Designed by March Studio, the
$5.5 million project had $2.8 million worth of
assistance from the federal government, with
the Building Better Regions Fund. Construction
of the community hub will include a co-working
space, exhibition hall and a café.

Working drawings are currently in progress
with Circa Morris-Nunn Architects for the
construction of a hospitality training school

and hotel as a part of the Kangaroo Bay
development precinct. The $45 million project is
expected to progress through the tender stage
later this year.

Construction is expected to include the
hospitality training school and the hotel is
to comprise 120 rooms. The zoning of the
precinct will allow for future accommodation
and residential development as well as retail,
restaurants and water transport connections.
