to Brisbane City Council for a brewery for
BrewDog in Murarrie. BrewDog is Scotland’s
largest independent craft beer brewery, and this
project would be the company’s first brewery in
Australia. The project involves the construction
of:
- a new state-of-the-art brewery;
- a canning line;
- a visitors centre; and,
- restaurant
The site will also become BrewDog’s Australian
headquarters. The Rheinmetall Military Vehicle
Centre of Excellence will be built at Redbank
Industrial Estate, near Ipswich, by 2020. The
new production, testing and administration
facility for Rheinmetall Defence Australia
will include a live weapons testing range,
electromagnetic test facility, all-weather vehicle
test track and specialty laser testing equipment.
Small and medium gauge ammunition and
explosives will be stored in a purpose-built
armoury. Rheinmetall won a $5 billion defence
contract from the Australian government for
the provision of 211 high- tech armoured Boxer
CRVs. The headquarters will be Rheinmetall’s
biggest facility outside Germany. The State
Government has given the green light for Dexus
to progress to the next stage of their proposal
to transform Brisbane’s Eagle Street Pier.The site will undergo a transformation into
a premium business and leisure destination.
This decision enables Dexus to move to a full
feasibility study for the redevelopment of the
precinct under a Market-Led Proposal Program,
following the go-ahead to proceed to Stage 2
of the process. The precinct includes a vision for
two new towers on the Eagle Street site with the
potential for commercial use, residential, a hotel
and retail space built alongside riverside public
space. Construction will commence next month
on the first stage of Aveo’s Palmview retirement
village on the Sunshine Coast. The 5.4 hectare
site will include 138 independent living units with
the first 63 expected to be completed by mid-
