TENDERS

Anzac Hill Precinct in Alice Springs has been
announced as the preferred site for the National
Aboriginal Art Gallery, with construction
expected to commence in 2020. The Northern
Territory Government has pledged $50 million
in funding for the project, with the remainder
to be sought from the Federal Government
and private sector. Government will now begin
formal negotiations with stakeholders, including
Aboriginal Traditional Owners and organisations,
and Alice Springs Town Council.

Local company Jaytex Construction has
been awarded the contract to construct new
Headquarters for the Fisheries Division of
the Department of Primary Industries and
Resources. The $5.3 million building, to be
located at the Berrimah Industrial Estate, will
include 800 square metres of office space and
1,400 square metres of secure storage for boats
and equipment, as well as research facilities.

The Alice Springs Courts will undergo a
multi-million dollar refurbishment, including
the establishment of a specialised Domestic
Violence Court. The upgrade will also involve
provision of five fully refurbished courtrooms,
waiting and interview areas and an upgrade
of the building throughout for DDA standards,
including provision of new lifts. Tenders close
29th March with work expected to be completed
late this year.

Tenders have been called for a $6.5 million Early
Childhood Integrated Learning Centre for 110
children at Tennant Creek. The centre will have
facilities for preschool and a child and family
centre including onsite Families as First Teachers
(FaFT) Program, meeting rooms, visiting
specialists’ rooms, staff areas and amenities. The
tender is expected to be awarded in May, with
construction commencing in June.
