It’s only natural


As much as 40 per cent of how happy you are is
determined by the things you do. After a quick fix?
Take a moment, every day, to notice the nature
around you. People who do are happier, say
Canadian researchers.

MAKE IT WORK: “This isn’t about spending
hours outdoors or going for long walks in the
wilderness,” says the study’s author, Holli-Anne
Passmore. “This is about the tree at a bus stop
in the middle of a city.”

The mushroom effect
Mushrooms contain unusually
high amounts of ergothioneine
and glutathione, powerful
antioxidants that may help fight
the ageing process, say
researchers from Pennsylvania
State University.

deliver around 30 per cent of your
daily requirements of two
important B vitamins, at WW
mushrooms are a zero Points food,
so there’s no need to track them
when you eat them.

GOOD-TO-KNOW INFO: While
exotic varieties tend to have higher
levels of the two anti-ageing
antioxidants, button mushrooms are
also a valuable source. Researchers
advise eating about five of those a day
to benefit from the protective effects.
