PRETTY PABLO
Hi,
I’m Isobel. I’ve had many pets including cats,
guinea pigs and I even kept a snail once. It
ended up being fed to the chooks. We have
four hens and a rooster. Two of the hens are
Silkies and the rooster is also a Silky. I’m not
sure what the other two hens are, but I know
that they are sisters.
At the moment, we’ve got two dogs, Jippy
and Dood. Dood is a black and white Jack
Russell, about 11 years old. I also have a
Budgie called Pablo — he is so pretty. And I
have a load of fi sh.
When I was little, I was given a cat. It was
completely black and I called it Biscuit. It was
an outdoor cat; it didn’t come inside that much.
I remember peeking around the couch to see it
walk around the coff ee table. Sadly, it ran away
shortly after its sibling got its tail removed. His
name was Micky; he also ran away.
When I was in grade two, I got another cat.
It was a boy and I called it Flip because when
it fi rst came to our house, we had a bell collar
on him and he was doing backfl ips off the
couch. I couldn’t stop laughing. Sadly, not
long ago, he ran away.
About half a week after Flip ran away, we got a
rescue cat, although it was my friend’s family that
rescued it. All her siblings have died, same with
the mum. But we don’t have enough time to look
after it so tomorrow we are going to drop it off at
Just Cats. Hopefully, she will get a good home.
I sure miss them all, and I will miss poor Mittens,
too. I’m sorry about only giving two pictures.

Ed: Isobel, thank you so much for writing us such a
long and interesting letter about your fabulous pets,
and sharing with us your gorgeous photo of Pablo!
He sure is pretty. It sounds like you love animals a
lot! Perhaps you could try keeping your cats inside
to prevent them from running away so often. PETS
recommends keeping cats indoors or letting them
out only in an enclosure or cat run to help keep your
pet safe, and our native wildlife, too. Thanks again
so much for writing in. We really appreciate it.

PAW-SOME POETRY
Dear PETS,
I made up this poem about
things that are true.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I love PETS magazine,
and lots of others do, too.
Bundie is cute,
Peaches is playful,
Both of them are lovable,
and I always will, too.
All of the others have now
used their gift,
I hope they rest in peace.
This poem is dedicated to PETS magazine
and my RIP dogs, Girly, Munchie, Gizmo,
and to my rehomed lovable Fudge.
Loved by Chance
