with a dab of peanut butter and then fi ll with food
such as kibble or mix it with things like canned
food, chicken or cottage cheese.

  1. FREEZE A KONG
Creating a “KONG iceberg” will keep your dog
entertained for longer. Give your dog the iceberg
just before you leave the house, so your pooch
will associate you leaving with something
yummy to chew on. To make the iceberg:

  2. Stuff a KONG Classic with food of your
choice. This can be some treats or part of
    your dog’s daily food ration.

  3. Place the KONG in an old ice-cream or
plastic container and fi ll with enough water
    to cover the KONG.

  4. Sprinkle some treats or kibble into the
    water and freeze.

  5. ROTATE TOYS REGULARLY
Keep things interesting for your dog by rotating
his toys regularly. Place toys out of sight when
they are not being used. This will keep the toys
refreshed for your dog and also clear away clutter.

  6. THROW AWAY THE FOOD BOWL
Instead of allowing your dogs to gobble their
food quickly from a food bowl, try feeding them
from a KONG Classic or Wobbler. Place their daily
ration inside the toys and your dogs will have
a satisfying mental and physical challenge
while eating their meal. This will help
prevent boredom and slows the speed of
    their eating.

KONG dog toys are arguably the best-known
and most popular dog toys in the world. The
KONG Classic has been around for more than
30 years and these days, KONG Company
off ers a huge range of toys to cater for dogs of
all ages and for all types of play.
Most dog owners have at least one KONG toy
at home, but it is easy to overlook the best ways
to use these to maximise your dog’s enjoyment,
as well as the amount the toy will be used. Here
are fi ve tips to ensure you and your dog get the
most out of your KONG toy.

  1. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
A PLAY TOY AND A CHEW TOY
Play toys are designed for play only and include
toys such as the KONG Wubba, KONG Wild Knots
and the KONG AirDog. These toys are often soft and
may be destroyed if your dog is allowed to chew
on them. Play toys should always be put away after
play and not left unattended with your dog. Discard
any toy that breaks and remove any pieces.
Chew toys are made of materials that your dog
can’t chew off or destroy easily and must be of
suitable strength for your dog. The KONG Classic is
an excellent chew toy made from tough, durable
rubber and comes in many sizes and strengths,
catering for puppies, regular chewers, as well as
dogs with very powerful jaws. Chew toys must be
the appropriate size for your dog to avoid them
    becoming a choking hazard.

  2. STUFF A KONG CLASSIC WITH FOOD
Chewing is a natural behaviour for dogs — it helps
reduce stress and alleviates boredom. Stuffi ng a
KONG Classic with food will help keep your dog
occupied as she has to work to get the food out.
This provides an excellent chewing outlet and
will help prevent unwanted behaviour such as
chewing on furniture and digging. You can stuff
a KONG Classic with pretty much anything that is
safe for your dog to eat. Start by blocking the hole
