Empire Australasia — December 2017

(Marcin) #1

Thanks for the kind words and the patronage,
Douglas! To answer your question: yes,
supervillains DID sabotage the “Greatest Comic
Book Movies Ever” bonus mag but, as always,
Empire has swooped in to save the day!
Subscribers have been sent the missing mag with
this very issue, meaning you’ve now got TWO
bonus mags this month to dig into. Happy reading!

POSTER FURY!
I have never been so fl ipping furious in my life. I
was so excited to see what the ‘Eight Huge
Posters’ were to be in your November issue. The
moment I began opening each precious poster
turned from happiness to sourness in a matter of
seconds. Who in their right mind puts Suicide
Squad at the back of Justice League? Who in
their crazy mind puts The Joker on the back of
Guardians Of The Galaxy? Who in their maniac
mind puts Deadpool at the back of Batman? And
who in their bizarre mind puts The Avengers on
the back of yet another Batman poster? I don’t
think I have ever wanted to unsee posters from
your magazine more than I have this month. Do
your very crazy poster-picking ‘experts’ not care
for the mental state of readers who pull their hair
out each time they must decide which side of the
poster to choose?

Life’s all about making tough choices, Anna...
even when it comes to which spandex-clad
superheroes get to be stuck on your wall. We hope
you’ve made peace with your choices...

POSTER FURY, PART 2!
I just bought The Last Jedi issue of Empire and
was very let down that there was no Star Wars
poster. I know that there was one in the Blade
Runner 2049 issue but I missed that, so is there
any way you can send me a Star Wars poster?

NOT SQUAD GOALS
Hi Empire, congrats on reaching issue 200! As a
huge comic book movie fan, I was ecstatic to
fi nd it came with a ‘Greatest Comic Book
Movies Ever’ mag. Opening it before even
getting to the main magazine, I found — to my
shock, horror and surprise — Suicide Squad
amongst critically acclaimed fi lms such as The
Dark Knight, Logan and The Avengers. Thinking
this was a big mistake, I looked up the Empire
review for Suicide Squad and found you had
given it 4 out of 5 stars! Look, Deadshot and
Harley Quinn were good, but the rest of the
cast weren’t memorable and the plot was
rubbish. Surely I am not the only Empire reader
thinking this? Nevertheless, I look forward to
Volume 2 — though hopefully Batman & Robin,

IN THE OFFICE THIS MONTH

Blade: Trinity and Catwoman aren’t featured...

Wait a minute — you mean there are people in the
world who DON’T love Batman &Robin...?!?!

SUPER-DOLTS
I’m sick and tired of these over-done
superheroes destroying whole cities without any
sense of “shouldn’t we be careful we don’t hurt
or kill any innocent bystanders?”, and then just
kicking back, wise-cracking and high-fi ving
each other at ‘superhero HQ’ (which never gets
destroyed in the mayhem), without any sort of
retribution from the authorities. I’m also fed

with skinny females with the muscle tone of an
8-year-old, and who wouldn’t weigh 60kg
soaking wet, kicking the shit out of half a
dozen 120kg bad guys without messing their
hair. At least Superman was mindful of hurting
anyone who got in the fi ring line, but the current
crop of bulked-up dolts, just don’t get it or care!

What a buncha jerks! (Don’t tell them we said that.)
