tree roots – the Sherco 125 seemed to
lap it up with ease.
The power is quite linear for a
small-bore bike and the electronically
controlled power valve offers precise
power delivery throughout the rev
range. There doesn’t seem to be any
abrupt hit or ‘powerband’ and that will
appeal to a wide spectrum of riders.
Combine the smooth engine with the
WP Xplor 48 fork and WP 46 shock and
you have a really easy bike to ride. The
125 was the only bike at the test fitted
with the Sherco-spec Xplor fork and it
had the best front-end of the bunch.
I am impressed with Sherco’s first go
at a 125. It has a really nice engine, a

It’s pleasing to see that Sherco has beefed
up the rear suspension across all 2T models
and the smaller 4Ts by fitting the new WP 46
shock. This damper offers great feel and
works well to help the engine put power to
the ground. The front-end, however, is fittedwith the old-school WP 48mm open-chamber
fork, which isn’t as good as the Xplor 48 on
the 125. Don’t get me wrong; it’s super
reliable and easy to work on, but it’s soft.
I cranked the compression damping up
and that made it better but the Sherco Xplor
fork as offered on the 125, the Factory
Editions and the Six Days models is night
and day better.
