with free GPX files and route sheets
thatcouldbedownloadedfromthe
shop’s website. Recent rain not only
keptdusttoaminimum,buttherewas
also mud (remember that?) in places on
the tech. loop.
Perhapsweshouldpointoutatthis
stagethatVinceisthefatherof
U.S-basedendurostarJoshStrang.He
knowshowtomaparide.The
adventureloopwasadelightfulromp
throughsomeofNewEngland’sfinest
backroads and unfenced trails
through farmland.
Underclearblueskiestheriders
meandered along mainly decomposed
granitetracks,somealittlesandy,with
theoddsneakyforestsectiontoavoid
asmuchtaraspossible.Withacouple
oflunchoptionstheridemadefora
cruiseyhalf-dayadventurethatriders
coulddoattheirownpace.
Thetechoridewasablast.From
tight,roughsandytrails,singletrack
litteredwithlogsandrocksteps,afew
muddysections,aniceclimbto
fantastic views and a couple of deep,
sandy whoop sections that wouldn’t

beoutofplaceonamotocrosstrack

thisridehaditall.Despitebeingless

than60km,thislooptookaround

threehoursandproducedabunchof

sweaty, dirty riders with huge smiles

on their faces.

After both rides finished in Tingha,

NSW, the exhausted participants were

treatedtoatyre-changingdemo

performedin“superslow-mo”by

Vincesoriderscouldgetabetterlook.

Well,that’swhathesaidanyway.

Withalmost100ridersturningupto

helpVincecelebratetheshop’sfortieth,

alargecakewasthencutandahuge

pile of gifts and Suzuki showbags were

tossed to the baying crowd.
