THE TOUGH GET GOING
The prologuewasn’tthatimportantfor
me, just starting on the front row was
what I was after. I started second,
followed PolTarresandtriedtogetinto
a good groove to pick away at the race.
I took theleadonthethirdlap.It
was quite tricky to stay with Pol in
the hard stuff.We’dgettoahard
section andI’dwaitabituntilhewas
up to get a clean run at it and lost
some time [waiting].
I battled to get into the groove on
the first lapbutthenIbecamemore
comfortable.Lappedridersaddedan
aspect to thisracebutitmadeitmore
interesting.Idon’tmindit.Ithinkit’s
pretty cool.Mostoftheguysmove
over when they hear you and not too
many of them held me up.
It was good to have Pol here because

Mitch Harper had to settle for fourth this year behind Hamish Macdonald Grabbo rode the Xtrainer 300 to make his life easier

he’s a great rider but it would be nice

if Graham (Jarvis), Alfredo (Gomez)

and the other top European riders

could come out. It would be a whole

lot bigger race.

I chose to race the Sherco 250SE-R

because I enjoy the power delivery.

It’s smoother and more controllable,

but I’m not too fazed to be honest. I

have a 300SE-R at home that I enjoy.

They’re both really good bikes.

The Rock Garden was the most fun

section for me. It’s a challenge to get

up there as fast as you can with no

mistakes. When I finished I heard I

was close to lapping third and second

place,whichisprettycool.
