EKS-S GOX GOGGLES
IT’S BEEN A while since
I’ve rocked a set of EKS
goggles so I got my dirty
mitts on the new EKS-S GOX
for a thorough test. The
EKS-S goggles are the latest
addition to their arsenal and
have a few tricks so you can
keep your focus on the
track or trail ahead.
They feature the latest
GOX system, with new
outriggers to better seal the
goggle against your face, a
better lense mounting
system that is designed to
stop the lense from popping
out and a new vent system
to help keep you cool.
A fl exible urethane blend
has been used to build the
frame and it conforms to
your face. Plus, thick
four-layer foam ensures
there are no gaps between
your face and the goggles
to let dust get out.
The foam is backed with a
fl eece material that’s
designed to stop sweat
dripping down into your
eyes but on a recent test
that saw temperatures on
the hot side of 25 degrees
the foam couldn’t hold back
high tide on the forehead
and I had to remove the
goggles to wipe my eyes
more than I’d like.
The detachable
noseguard is a nice feature
and a proboscis saver if you

ThecolourwayI’mtesting
is orange/smoke and looks
unreal. Paired with an
orange-tinted lense, the
gogglescomeupawesome
in photos. The real test,
however, will be how they
hold up over the next few
months. At under $90
they’repricedsomewhere
inthemiddleamong
comparable brands so we’re
hoping to get good life out
of them.

MOST RIDING GEAR brands try to outdo
each other with new and innovative safety
features but Shift went for looks and comfort
when creating these boots. Safety, comfort
and durability are the main three attributes I
look for in a dirtbike boot so I was excited to
give Shift’s latest offering a go.
The boots have quite a different design,
with an elastic top buckle that works well. It is
like they dug up a photo of the original Rossi
leather boots and thought “hey, let’s put our
spin on these”.
You will see what I’m talking about when
you open the boot. I have the black ones but
they make many awesome color combos in
this style. The boots are very light and seem
to be pretty water tight.
The buckles don’t seem to come loose or
come undone.
The boots feel comfortable considering
they have no inner booties. I was a little
concerned about the soft ankle support and
how they could be bent to the side at the
shin, but then I put them on and realised how
comfortable they are.
These boots look great and will match
your Shift attire perfectly. However, they are
built to a price point, and while they don’t
have all the safety features of more
expensive boots, they are soft and
comfortable, which is a rarity for anything
less than $300! Wes Mills
