DAY Enduro is approaching
fast, with less than four months
to go by the time you read this.
The disappointment
surrounding the cancellation of
the 2017 A4DE in Toowoomba
is behind us and everyone is
talking about 2018.
It is the 40th anniversary ofthe A4DE and the event is
returning to its birthplace in
Cessnock, NSW.
The brainchild of John Hall,
the Four-Day was fi rst called
the Cessnock Four-Day
Interstate Challenge.
The thought behind it was to
run an event using the same
rules as the InternationalSix-Days Trial to prepare
Aussie riders for the rigours of
riding against the world’s best.
The Four-Day Interstate
Challenge quickly gained a big
following and eventually
moved from its Cessnock
birthplace to be run all over
Australia and even, on one
