HUSQVARNA PAIRING DEAN WILSON AND
JASON ANDERSON TAKE CHARGE AT
AUS-X OPEN

The closest an Australian got to the overseas
brigade at the AUS-X Open was third on the fi rst
night. Kawasaki’s Dan Reardon managed to
secure the fi nal step on the podium in a weekend
dominated by the Husqvarna pairing of Dean
Wilson and Jason Anderson.
Despite going down in the fi rst corner of the
Main Event on Saturday night, Anderson showed
incredible speed to fi nish second behind the
super-smooth Wilson, passing Reardon in the
closing stages of the race. Australian Supercross
Championship leader, Honda’s Justin Brayton,
was also caught up in the fi rst-turn crash but
could only salvage eighth.
Sunday night was again dominated by the
Rockstar pair, only this time Anderson led from
start to fi nish with Wilson riding to a solid
second and Brayton rounding out the podium.
The other highlight of the weekend was seeing
Ronnie Mac get his arse handed to him by the
G.O.A.T. Ricky Carmichael, in a two-stroke
showdown which almost resulted in the death of
a camera.
Overall, both nights were deemed a huge success
with healthy crowds and a freestyle feast to
satisfy the appetite of all walks of dirtbike life.
