What have you had to overcome to get
to where you are today?
Relocating, an abusive relationship, career
change, lifestyle change, post-comp hormonal
damage... We all go through so many obstacles
that put us on the path we are meant to be on.
They have all changed me in a way that has led
me to be a better, stronger person.
Do you have a quote that you live by?
‘Teamwork makes the dream work’ — my
parents introduced this quote to my siblings
and me as kids. To this day it’s something I
have lived by.
What advice would you give to women
wanting to get into shape?
Don’t be afraid to get into the weights area.
Don’t ever give up; nothing is out of reach. Just
have faith, trust the process, and believe you
can do it. You are your own worst enemy, so
don’t let self-doubt stop you from doing what
you are truly meant to do!
How do you overcome days of low
motivation?
I definitely haven’t always been able to do this
and still now I will have days where I struggle.
We can only do our best. I overcome these
by having a support network around me. My
husband is a huge help with kickstarting my
motivation.
Do you have a career highlight?
I have competed in 25 shows to date, but my
absolute highlight was my most recent show
(WBFF Australia in October 2017) where I
won my WBFF Fitness Diva Pro Card! It’s a
dream I have been chasing for years!
New WBFF Fitness Diva Pro Asha
Coulthard has made the comp stage her
own in the past few years, with more
than 20 top three placings — and half
of those were wins!

What was your life like before you
started training?
I never dieted, never trained, partied way too
much, and I was unfit and unhealthy. I was
a typical party girl teenager and had no idea
about the negative effects it was having on my
body until I had a change in lifestyle.
Was there a pivotal moment that
motivated you to start training?
I was lucky enough to be introduced to my
first coach, Gabe, who was a coach in the
bodybuilding industry in Adelaide. I was
blown away by the information I was given,
the transformation my body could go through,
hearing about the opportunities that may arise
from the sport, and the faith that Gabe had in
me and my future in the sport. I was hooked
and never once looked back. Back then, I
would never have known he would change my
life forever.
Do you remember your first training
session?
Very much so! It was in the female weights
area and was a full-body workout that mainly
consisted of bodyweight exercises. My
training now is a full-body split consisting of
bodybuilding-style hypertrophy training.
What are your qualifications?
I am a qualified personal trainer and wellness
coach. I have my own successful competition
prep team that I have now taken worldwide.
My aim is to give back with the hope that I can
change as many lives as possible.
