HANDLE WITH CARE
CARE Australia’s online gift range is
improving lives around the world.

N

otable Australian artist Greg Wilson OAM
has created a limited-edition poster for
the Australian War Memorial, with all
proceeds going towards Soldier On, an organisation
that raises awareness of the issues faced by
veterans, and helps assist them and their families.
“Every day when I look at the artwork,
I am inspired to try harder, to do better and to
cherish the people around me. Why? Because
I firmly believe the best way to value and
appreciate all those who died defending our
freedoms in the past is to make the most of
our own lives today,” said Wilson of his work,
Always Beside You, which was commissioned
by the memorial’s director, Dr Brendan Nelson.
The stirring artwork, along with others from
Wilson’s extensive portfolio, will be on display at
a special exhibition at Parliament House in Sydney
in 2018. For more information, visit gregwilsonstudio.

HELPING FIGHT HUNGER
Help Foodbank feed Aussies this festive season.

Supported by Virgin Australia since 2010, Foodbank
is the largest hunger relief organisation in Australia,
providing 172,000 meals a day to more than 2600
charities. The charity recently released its fith
Foodbank Hunger Report, which found 3.6 million
Australians have experienced food insecurity in
the last 12 months. Despite Foodbank ’s eforts,
there are still 65,000 people turned away from
the organisation’s charities on a monthly basis due
to a lack of food and groceries to meet demand.
In the lead-up to Christmas, Foodbank relies
on the generosity of its partners, and donations from
the public, to help meet this need. A donation of just
$10 provides a week ’s worth of food for a struggling
Aussie. Donate at http://www.foodbank.org.au.

Every year, about $630 million worth of gits
in Australia end up in the bin or a cupboard,
or being sold online. So instead of spending
on something unwanted, why not make a
big diference to a family in poverty?
With CAREgits, you can buy a goat
for a family, help a community to grow a
veggie garden, provide clean water, and
more. Gits start from $10, with a git card
to personalise. Visit http://www.caregits.org.au.
