ASG Update
Judges first narrowed their
selection to seven finalists based
on their photo entries. These
garments were then submitted for
further critiquing of construction
and creative detail, resulting in
two winners. It was a difficult
decision to make as each entry
was of a very high standard.
First place went to Carina
Harrington who created a
delightful dress for her 4-year
old daughter. The judges were
impressed with her creativity and
superb sewing skills.
Pearl Moon secured second
place with a one-of-a-kind jacket
made from a wool jumper and two
knit T-shirts – a garment to rival
any designer label.
Last, but not least, Julie
Livingstone was awarded a
prize for the most dramatic
transformation of a single
garment. Using only one garment
presents an extra challenge and
Julie rose to the occasion by
waving her magic wand over a pair
of men’s pants and pulling a stylish
jacket out of her hat.
