@sewhq Here’s my version of
the tote bag from July’s Sew.
I used a wavy stitch on my
machine rather than a free-
motion foot. Julie Wilton

Summer fun
My 11-year-old granddaughter

stitching Roxy, after we chose
her name together for the

I upcycled a number of
unused men’s ties into
two cushions.

All tied up
too cool for school
I taught a class recently where students made full
circle skirts using just two measurements. My
own (far right) was once a duvet cover and I’m
absolutely in love with it!

sisterly love
Whilst flicking through
Sew, my sister Sarah Rose
popped in and fell in love with the Lottie jacket.
As she doesn’t sew (I’m trying to get her into
it), I agreed to make it for her, using the navy
version of the Ditto fabric used in the magazine,
which was lovely to sew with. I have only been
sewing for 18 months – this was my first go at
buttonholes as I had a bit of a phobia. However,
I practised and found the pattern really easy to
follow, and here is the result. Sarah is over the
moon and I am now over my fear, thank you!
