Rehab stints, cheating allegations and a rumoured
gambling addiction: Ben Affleck has faced
his share of personal demons over the years.
‘I’m my own worst enemy,’ the actor himself
has admitted. But friends fear the troubled
45-year-old could be set to once again spiral
downwards as new claims about him emerge.
It all started when Ben joined the chorus of
stars who spoke out against Harvey Weinstein.
‘We must support those who come forward,’
he tweeted, adding that the allegations made
him ‘sick’. But one of Harvey’s alleged victims,
Rose McGowan, has brushed off Ben’s words,
claiming she personally told him about the
attack on her. ‘“GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM
TO STOP DOING THAT” you said that to my
face,’ she tweeted the star.
And now, further accusations about Ben have
exploded. Former One Tree Hill actress Hilarie
Burton recalled an incident when he grabbed
her breast during a 2003 appearance on the
MTV show TRL. ‘I didn’t forget,’ posted Hilarie,
now 35. ‘I was a kid.’ Ben has since apologised to
the actress, admitting he ‘acted inappropriately’.
More allegations of indiscretions were
brought forward by make-up artist Annamarie
Tendler, who says Ben groped her at a 2014
Golden Globe Awards party – while he was
still married to Jennifer Garner.
The claims have come at the end of a difficult
year for Ben, who – despite finishing a rehab
stint for alcohol addiction in March – is believed
to be back on the booze since embarking on
a relationship with producer Lindsay Shookus.
