BUTTONHOLE BAND
Using 3.75mm needles, cast on 13 sts.
Work in rib as given for button band until
this band, when slightly stretched, fits
up left front opening edge, from cast-
on edge to a point 6 cm down from
cast-off edge of collar, sewing in place
as you go along, ending with a WS row
and with the addition of 7 buttonholes
worked to correspond with positions
marked for buttons as follows:-
Buttonhole Row
RS - K2, (P1, K1) twice, yfwd, K2tog,
P1, K1, P1, K2.
When band is complete, cast off in rib.
POCKET BORDERS (BOTH ALIKE)
With RS facing and using 3.75mm
needles, pick up and knit 36 sts evenly
along row-end edge of pocket opening.
Row 1: WS - knit.
Starting with row 2, work in rib as
given for collar for 6 rows, ending with
a WS row.
Cast off in rib.
MAKING UP
Join side seams. Join sleeve seams.
Insert sleeves. Sew pocket linings in
place on inside, then neatly sew down
ends of pocket bor ders. Fold collar in
half to inside and neatly sew in place.
Sew on buttons.
WAISTCOAT
BACK, POCKET LININGS, LEFT and
RIGHT FRONTS, COLLAR, BUTTON and
BUTTONHOLE BANDS and POCKET
BORDERS.
Work as given for Cardigan.
ARMHOLE BORDERS (BOTH ALIKE)
With rs facing and using 3.75mm
needles, pick up and knit 94 (98,
102, 106, 114, 118, 122) sts evenly
all round armhole edge.
Row 1 (WS) - knit.
Starting with row 1, work in rib as
given for back for 6 rows, ending with
a WS row.
Cast off in rib.TO MAKE UP
Join side and armhole border seams.
Sew pocket linings in lace on inside,then neatly sew down ends of pocket
borders. Fold collar in half to inside and
