Using 5.00mm needles, cast on 42 sts.
Row 1: RS - Knit.
Row 2: WS - K2, P2, K2; rep from
to end.
Rep the last 2 rows once more.
Row 5: RS - K1, *C2F, C2B; rep from



  • to last st, K1.
    Row 6: WS - P2, K2, P2; rep from
    to end.


Row 7: RS - Knit.
Row 8: WS - As row 6.
Rep the last 2 rows once more.
Row 11: RS - K1, *C2B, C2F; rep
from * to last st, K1.
Row 12: WS - As row 2.
These 12 rows form Honeycomb
Cable Stitch pattern. Rep these 12
rows once. 24 rows.
Work 4 rows Garter St (knit all rows).
Make eyelets RS - K2, *yf, K2tog, K2;
rep from * to end.
Work 3 rows Garter St (knit all rows).
Cast off.

LEAF EDGING
Using 5.00mm needles cast on 5sts.
Row 1: RS - K2, yf, K1, yf, K2.
Row 2: WS - P6, inc in next st by
knitting into the front and back of it.
Row 3: RS - K1, P1, K2, yf, K1, yf, K3.
Row 4: WS - P8, inc into next st, K1.
Row 5: RS - K1, P2, K3, yf, K1, yf,
K4.
Row 6: WS - P10, inc into next st,
K2.
Row 7: RS - K1, P3, K4, yf, K1, yf,
K5.
Row 8: WS - P12, inc into next st,

these 18 rows until length is sufficient
to fit around lower edge of both tea
cosy pieces, ending on last row of
pattern.

MAKING UP
Join side seams using edge-to-edge
st, leaving a gap for teapot handle and
spout (to fit your chosen teapot). Join
ends of Leaf Edging, then st around
lower edge of tea cosy, using slip
stitch.

DRAWSTRING
Using a 4.00mm crochet hook, work
a 40cm length of chain. Thread
drawstring through eyelets. Thread
beads on each end of drawstring and
knot to secure.
