Repeat Rows 9 and 10 until there are
two wrapped sts at each end of the
heel. End on Row 10.

TWIN STITCH HEEL
Row 1: set up - K until two sts from
the end of the round, TK, turn.
Row 2: set up - P until two sts from
the centre of the round, TP, turn.
Row 3: K until the last un-twinned st,
TK, turn.
Row 4: P until the last un-twinned st,
TP, turn.
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until 0 (1, 2,
1, 2) sts remain un-twinned in the
middle. End on Row 4.
Row 5: K to the first twinned st, PM,
K until the last st in the round, TK,
turn.
Remember to work all twinned sts as
though the two strands of yarn form a
regular, single st.
Row 6: P to first twinned st, PM, purl
to last heel st, TP, turn.
Row 7: K to second marker, remove
marker, TK, turn.
Row 8: P to marker, remove marker,
TP, turn.
Row 9: K to first twinned st, K the
twinned st, TK, turn.
Row 10: P to first twinned st, P the

Round 1: Knit. On this round, you
may choose to PU one st in the
“corners” at the start and end of the
heel, and K each of these with a live
st. This maintains the stitch count, but
closes any gaps that may have arisen
during heel formation.
Rounds 2 and 3: Knit.
Rounds 4-6: Purl.
Rounds 7-9: Knit.
Repeat Rounds 4-9 1 (2, 2, 3, 3)
