FRONT
Work as for Back to **.

Divide for V Neck
Next Row: K45 (47, 49, 51, 53, 56),
turn.
Cont on these 45 (47, 49, 51, 53,
56) sts for left side of neck.
*** Dec one st at neck edge in every
foll alt row until 40 (39, 39, 38, 38,
38) sts rem, then in every foll 4th
row until 28 (29, 30, 31, 31, 33)
sts rem.
Work 5 rows.


Shape Shoulder
Cast off 9 (10, 10, 10, 10, 11) sts at
beg of next row and foll alt row.
Work 1 row.
Cast off rem 10 (9, 10, 11, 11, 11)
sts. ***
Slip next st (centre st) onto a thread
or safety pin and leave for neckband.
With right side facing, join yarn to rem
45 (47, 49, 51, 53, 56) sts for right
side of neck and knit to end.
Rep from *** to ***, working 6 rows
instead of 5 before shoulder shaping.

NECKBAND
Using mattress stitch, join right
shoulder seam. With right side facing
and using 3.25mm needles, knit up
60 (60, 60, 62, 62, 62) sts evenly
along left side of neck, K1 (centre
st) from thread or safety pin, knit up
60 (60, 60, 62, 62, 62) sts evenly
along right side of neck to shoulder,
then knit across sts from back
stitch-holder. 156 (158, 160, 166,
170, 172) sts.
Row 1: * K1, P1, rep from * to end.

Row 2: Rib to within 2 sts of centre
st, ybk, sl 1, K1, psso, K1 (centre st),
K2tog, rib to end.
Row 3: Rib to within 2 sts of centre
st, K2tog, P1 (centre st), K2tog tbl, rib
to end.
Rep 2nd and 3rd rows 3 times. 140
(142, 144, 150, 154, 156) sts, 9
rows rib in all.
Cast off loosely in rib.

ARMHOLE BANDS
Join left shoulder and neckband seam.
With right side facing and using 3.25mm
needles, knit up 151 (155, 163, 167, 175,
179) sts evenly along armhole edge.
Work 9 rows rib as for Back, beg with
a row 2.
Cast off loosely in rib.

MAKING UP
Do not press. Join side and armhole
band seams.
