THIS RUBICON was the first in the country with a 1/1/2016
compliance plate, which is cool. It went straight from the dealer to
On Track 4X4 at Slacks Creek for a 4.5-inch lift and 35-inch Trail
Hogs on 17x9 Tuffs wheels. Front and rear bars are Poison Spyder
from the USA. It has a Tom Wood’s front-driveshaft and Evo body
armour. Best place I’ve gone so far has to be The Springs 4x4 Park
out past Warwick, where I went up Beer O’Clock Hill over the
Easter long weekend.I BOUGHT it in August 2015 pretty much standard, with a two-
inch EFS lift and 52-inch LED bar. I’ve since had ARB Capalaba
fit an ARB deluxe bar, brush bars, side-steps, awning, compressor,
rear locker, REDARC dual battery and a Smittybilt X20 10,000lb
winch. In the back, an Evakool 47-litre fridge keeps the beer cold.
JCM Mechanical & 4X4 recently gave the 4.5 a good sorting out,
so I’ve got plenty of power to go anywhere on 16x8in Dynamic
steelies wrapped in Goodyear 285/75 DuraTracs, thanks to Tim
Penfold. I spend a lot of time on North Stradbroke living the
beach life. The rest of my spare time I’m out wheelin’ with the
guys and girls in the Gold Coast Camping & 4WD Group. Best
time in the 80 so far is out at The Springs 4x4 Park near Warwick.2016 JEEP JK

I’VE HAD it for about eight years. Originally a TB42, I built it
up to a big, pricy TD42 with custom 11mm pump which runs
25psi boost. I’m yet to dyno, as the motor has only 10,000km
on it. All suspension arms upgraded, and it has front and rear
air lockers. It’s got a 5-inch lift and runs 35-inch TTC Claws.
Features include a high-mount Warn, winch rebuilt diffs and a
Ti interior. Rig is in very good condition. Used for the Vic High
Country and towing our Jayco camper.RIGS
