Future of fitness
Previous accomplishments:
Throughout High School, I was part of
several Regional and State teams for
Cross Country and Athletics. I’ve also
competitively Water Ski Raced since
I was 5 years old picking up several
trophies during this time.
Indulge:
I am a bit of a chocoholic, so this would
definitely be chocolate. I don’t eat
chocolate often these days, but if I crave
it long enough, I’ll always indulge! It’s all
about that balance.
Fitness Tip:
I think people need to remember that
we are each on our own fitness journey
and to focus on that and not compare
yourself to others. For example; my
path will differ from someone else’s
because of the choices that I make to
reach the goals that I set for myself. No
two people are ever in the same place at
the same time and comparing ourselves
to others distracts us from the path we
have chosen for ourselves. So, do not
get caught up feeling disheartened by
peering into someone else’s journey.

My passion:
My passion for the aerial arts started as a kid
watching behind the scenes of Cirque on TV.
I wanted my mum to take me to circus classes
as a kid, but they were too expensive. I found
similar interests in other performing arts like
gymnastics, dance, and theatre. Fast forward
to college when I saw that a circus class was
offered as an elective; I was so excited to
learn something new and different. Right
away I was hooked.
Experience:
Growing up I’ve always needed to experience
things for myself rather than take someone’s
word for it. The need for that first-hand
experience has often driven me to pursue
goals that many people only dream about.
The strength work:
I asked myself what else I needed to do
besides believe in myself to make it as an
aerialist. I needed to get stronger and learn
more skills. I dedicated myself to taking
aerial classes, stretching, and working out
my core muscles and upper body in the
gym. I found other people who were doing
the exact same thing as me. I loved being
around these bold friends who were chasing
their dreams as well. These friends not only
inspired me but could also empathise with
my struggles.
These five
women
have the
drive that
is the ‘Fit
Factor’.
