completely overwhelming and I definitely felt out of
my depth at times, but I loved the challenge of it and
very quickly I started to see amazing results. A few
people in my life were openly critical and skeptical
of my new regime but deep down, I knew I was onto
something good.
In just under a year, I have lost well over 10 kilos of
body fat while eating more and training less than I was
before. That’s a total of 30kg lost in about two and a half
years. I’ve gained a lot of strength and muscle, and learned
so much about training, nutrition and overall well-being.
I truly believe I am a different person than I was this time
last year, both physically and mentally. When I started my
process, I wanted to get the “old me” back, but to be honest...
I look and feel better now than I ever have in my life and I
know I can only get better from here. I have gained so much
self-confidence and am doing things I never thought I would
do such as photo shoots and fitness competitions. Before,
all I used to think about were the limitations in my life, and
now all I think about are the endless possibilities. I’m even
considering doing some study
to take up a part-time job in the
fitness industry because I am
truly passionate about it and
how it can change lives.
My advice to someone
who wants to start their own
journey to a better self is two-
fold. Firstly – get the help of
an expert. Find someone who
you really trust and who has
your best interests at heart,
and who uses techniques that
you can see yourself sustaining
long-term. If you won’t keep
up what you’re doing now in
a few months or a years’ time,
it’s not the right technique for
you. Keep searching! Secondly

  • acknowledge the difference
    between motivation and
discipline. At the start of my
journey, I would go off the rails
because I would have periods of
    being unmotivated and would
use that as excuse to eat junk
and not train. I had no discipline
    whatsoever.
    I’ve now learned that
    motivation is what gets you
    started, but discipline is what
keeps you going. People tell me often they wish they had my
motivation or ask me how I stay motivated. Truth it, there isn’t
a single person who feels motivated every single day, myself
included, but those who live their best life get the job done
even on days when motivation is low because they know the
    result is so worth it!
