workplace and many other lovely stories about women
all over the world, I have finally resigned from my job
where I was being bullied. The final straw came after
reading your article “The Super Sickie” [July] regarding
taking sick leave for mental health days. This is a great
idea as I’ve had to take days off when I couldn’t face
going to work. So thank you for helping me to make this
very difficult decision – I can feel the relief already.

PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder),
something I’ve struggled with. But it was
the reference to her hitting perimenopause
that caused me to look into this further. Lo
and behold, my 44-year-old self has had
the symptoms for six months. It explains
my irregular periods and why I wake up
hot and nauseous, and feel depressed.
It’s a relief to know what’s going on and
what I can do about it. I don’t think it will
involve microdosing, but there are otherthings I can do. And I will be buying
Ayelet’s book and continuing to purchase
your wonderfully informative magazine!
