MARC BOHAN
1960-1989
Having arrived at Dior during Saint
Laurent’s tenure in 1958, Bohan
stepped into the top job when the
designer was ousted two years later.
Bohan had staying power – he kept his
position for three decades, presiding
over the star-studded ’60s and ’70s.
Grace Kelly, Princess Margaret and
Elizabeth Taylor were fans of his
flowing printed silks, but Bohan was
equally adept at neat little suits
like these (pictured) from 1964.

RAF SIMONS
2012-2015
The Belgian minimalist
designer played with the house
codes for his debut. This look
(right, autumn 2012 couture)
reinterprets the classic Bar
Suit, a key silhouette from
Christian Dior’s iconic
“New Look” line.

Mr Dior puts the
finishing touches on
a scarlet “New Look ”
evening gown in 1954.
