TIPS FOR THE BEST
WEDDING PLAYLIST

1

Ask guests for their favourite
song when they RSVP to
kick-start your research.

2

Download the Shazam App
(shazam.com) so you can
collect your favourite songs
as you hear them.

3

If you’re having a live band,
ask them if they need
you to supply playlists for
in between their sets.

4

If you’re doing your own
tunes, make individual
playlists for each part of the
night like ‘pre-reception
cocktails’, ‘dinner’, ‘early dance
floor’ etc. That way your MC
can make sure the music is
running smoothly (and you can
avoid guests skipping songs!).

5

Entrust someone like an
usher or friend to have
a fully-charged, back-up iPod

  • never hurts to be prepared.

6

If you’re throwing the
wedding at home or on
a property, make sure you
check you have enough power
to run the lights and music
for the night. The last thing
you want is music cutting out
halfway through. In fact, having
a battery-operated or pre-
charged speaker on hand
can’t hurt. No harm in having
a Plan B, C and D!

7

Feeling shy about your first
dance? Invite your wedding
party to join you at a certain
point, and encourage guests
to hit the dance floor, too.#
