Lemon-scented gum
Corymbia citriodora
Murray Unkovich, South Australia
Lemon-scented gums shed their bark each
summer. Little blisters appear, then burst and
peel up, revealing shades of beetroot, caramel,
asparagus and lime. Some of the outside bark
hangs for a while, but in the end it all drops off to
reveal a smooth creamy coat.
