(Tina Meador) #1

OBSERVING THE FAITH Hayley became a Roman Catholic, to honour
and become part of her fiance’s family. So one memorable moment of
their ceremony was that she was able to take communion. ‘And the first
kiss as a married couple would have to be the best part,’ she says
of the ceremony. The entire bridal party, and Inlighten wedding
photographers were chauffeured around all day in a 15-seater
white stretch Hummer. ‘It made the day amazing that we
were all together,’ says Hayley.

THE NEW MOON Since they’d come to Sydney from their
homes in Canberra, the couple and many of their friends
stayed the night at the nearby Oaks Goldsborough Hotel and
Apartments. They weren’t in any rush to get away, since they’d
enjoyed a seven-week honeymoon in the lead-up to their wedding.
Hayley had planned an odyssey that took them around the US, on a
cruise through the Caribbean and to Cancun in Mexico. ‘We felt great
when we got back and I didn’t feel too stressed about the rest of the
planning process so I would truly recommend it!’ says the bride.

‘The first kiss as a married couple
would have to be the best part.’

If you’re on a budget,
choose a venue that is
spectacular in its own
right, and then you
won’t need to spend
as much on
the décor.
