EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER
‘Our speeches were described by our
guests as an emotional rollercoaster,’ says
Hayley. ‘One minute you wanted to burst
into tears, but the next minute the speaker
would make you laugh hysterically. The
touching thing for us was hearing so many
nice things about us as a couple, and
about our families — which made us feel
very at ease with the idea of bringing our
families together as one.’ When Domenic
and Hayley had their first dance, in a
cloud of dry ice, to the tune of I Don’t
Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith, it
was the only time they did cry — with happiness.

INCIDENTAL FIREWORKS Hayley negotiated with Stylish
Events, the Doltone House wedding stylists, for the best price
on flowers — having first researched the benchmark price with
other florists. And she tried to do ‘as much DIY as possible’, so
she and Domenic could spend their money on a fabulous meal for
their guests. Ultimately, she was thrilled that she had been so thrifty,
because the wedding was on the same night as Sydney’s 100 year navy
celebrations, and the room was filled with the light of exploding fireworks.
