REUNITED IN LOVE Their
traditional Jewish bedeken
ceremony, was the highlight of the
wedding for Inga and Tal. Seeing
each other for the first
time in many days
heightened their
awareness of one
another as they listened
to their rabbi’s
‘beautiful’ sermon,
which described them,
their families, their lives
together and their future.
Then they had ‘about
five minutes together,
away from family and
friends, to take in the
moment and reflect’.
After Tal’s father, holding
back tears, had read the
ketubah (Jewish marriage
contract), the bridal party
and guests moved into
the greenery bedecked
space of Deckhouse for a
sumptuous cocktail party,
speeches and dancing.

NOVEL SPEECHES ‘I wanted to
do something unique,’ says Inga of
her reception style, ‘and decided
not to have any flowers, but to
have lush greenery that contrasted
against the white of my wedding
dress. We had tea light candles
scattered throughout the venue, to
enhance that magical feeling.’ After
his speech, Tal surprised his wife
by singing the Jason Mraz song, I
Won’t Give Up. ‘I knew he was a
good singer,’ says Inga, ‘and it was
very special to hear him sing on our
wedding day.’ Inga’s bridesmaids
‘gave a fantastically well-written
speech about us growing up
together, and about Tal
and I meeting; they
read it like a novel,
which was very
clever and funny’,
recalls the bride.

Soft grey and white
decorative elements,
combined with forest-like
greenery of mosses,
ferns and ivy, create a
warm, enchanted
space.
