What metals make a big impact?
Two tone rings (the combination of yellow
and white) make up more than 50 per cent
of all Dora sales, but recently Dora have
seen an increase in the use of pink gold
with white gold and alternate metals such
as titanium.
Are there any popular designs?
Today’s men are becoming more
adventurous when it comes to wearing a
wedding band. They want a ring of high
quality and a ring with a modern touch that
better represents their style. Customised
wedding rings are on the rise. 25 per cent
of all Dora sales last year had a customised
element to them. Whether it’s a small
change to the width of a ring or a major
change to the design, men are increasingly
becoming more involved in the design
aspect of the wedding band process.
What advice would you give men
choosing their band?
yy
Dora specialises in men’s wedding rings.
From a consumer’s perspective, quality can
initially be determined by the level of comfort
when the ring is on the finger. The consumer
must also be comfortable with the design. A
wedding ring should be for a lifetime so a
man should take this into account. Otherwise
it’s a long time to be wearing a ring that
doesn’t tick all the boxes.
How can couples ensure they are
getting the best from their jeweller?

It’s an important purchase, so the best advice
is to speak with a trusted jeweller about your
options. Dora can safely guarantee that each
stockist is a respected jeweller within the
industry and can be trusted to provide the
right advice and service.

materials, efficient service and the most
extensive and diverse collection of men’s

What men’s wedding jewellery
trends are big for 2014?
As far as wedding rings for men are
concerned, white is the new yellow. White
metals look contemporary and clean.
Combining white gold with alternate metals
such as titanium is popular. The contrast of

chris’ top tips:
1
Choose quality. Choose a ring
that looks and feels like it’s a
nicely made ring. Don’t be
afraid to ask questions regarding
the manufacturing process of a
wedding band. A good jeweller will
encourage this communication.
Quality jewellery is what all jewellers
want to sell. They want satisfied
customers because satisfied
customers always come back.
2
Choose contemporary over
conventional. It’s a long time
to be wearing a ring that’s
old fashioned. Look at wedding
rings that reflect your style
and era, not your fathers’.
3
Start looking at wedding rings
at least a two months in
advance of your wedding.
There’s a lot to choose from these
days and the manufacturing process
generally takes three weeks.
Don’t leave it to the last minute.
white with the dark grey metal looks very
modern and sharp. And a new metal on the
Australian landscape that was introduced
recently by Dora is Platinum 600. This metal is
60 per cent platinum mixed with 40 per cent
alloys to make it an attractive white metal
option, very hard wearing and affordable.
