Ribbon Hoop
Add a festive touch to your wedding with these
hoop ribbon decorations.
To make Start by taking a round embroidery
hoop, and separating the two pieces by
loosening the clamp at the top. To make the
hanger, take the outside hoop and tie four
lengths of rope at equal distances apart (i.e on
each quarter of the hoop). Secure the rope knots
in place on the hoop with a dot of hot glue to
avoid slipping. Tie all the loose ends together
with a knot, ensuring that all four lengths of rope
remain at equal lengths so it hangs evenly. Start
decorating by cutting ribbon of your choice all to
the same length. Using the hot glue gun, adhere
each ribbon to the inside of the inner (smaller)
hoop with small dot of hot glue. Once you have
worked your way around the entire hoop,
alternating ribbon styles and colours, take the
outside (larger) hoop and place it over the top.
With a turning motion tighten the clamp to
secure the hoop in place over the ribbon.

Book Wrapping
Prettily wrapped books are a fantastic way to
add colour and texture to your tabletop.
To make Start by purchasing hard cover,
second-hand books in varied sizes and
wrapping paper in different colours and prints.
Where possible, choose books with jackets so
you can use the jacket to create your template
by marking up the dimensions onto the
wrapping paper with a pencil. If the book is
without a jacket, open it up and mark the
height and width of the book, adding
approximately 60 per cent extra onto the width
to create the flaps to fold into the book cover.
Once you have created your template, use a
cutting mat, metal ruler and blade knife to cut
out the shape that you have marked up. Fold
the paper so that it wraps around the book.
Stack a few books to add height and
dimension to your table decorations, as well as
to create a platform to hold table numbers and
candles. Kikki K ‘Happy’ wrapping paper,
$3.95 (per sheet). Bespoke Letterpress
‘Blackbirds / Mustard Chevron’ double sided
gift wrap, $15 (3 pack). Assorted books, $2
each, from Salvation Army.
