GRACE & FAVOUR Inspired by the
elegance of Grace Kelly and Audrey
Hepburn, Jane and her mum Linda
went looking for the perfect wedding
gown. Jane hadn’t seen anything
she liked, when they went into one
shop on a whim and Jane tried on
the Karen Willis Holmes designed
‘Jaqueline’ dress, with its pleated
bodice, full skirt and diamanté waist
detail. ‘I was very excited,’ says the
bride, ‘I could see myself wearing it
on the day.’ She also found her
headpiece, earrings and a
bracelet in the Karen Willis
Holmes range, which
simplified one aspect
of planning.
REMOTE CONTROL
Jane was living in
Darwin where Daniel was
stationed, for much of the
18 months that it took to plan
their wedding, so she enlisted the help
of Angelic Events and Design, to
make sure everything was done
beautifully in Sydney. ‘Jessica was
fantastic, and easy to communicate
with; it was nice to have someone
understand what I wanted,’ says the
bride. The couple chose to marry at
the Shangri-La Hotel, because they
both love Sydney’s Rocks area, with
its quaint lanes and old buildings.
Jane says the genuine friendliness of
the hotel’s event co-ordinator, Anna,
was very reassuring.

PHOTOGRAPHY: INLIGHTEN PHOTOGRAPHYJane, 28, and Daniel, 26, got a few things out of order. They met at a birthday party, and within a year, Daniel,
an army medic had proposed — all good so far. But then Daniel was deployed to Afghanistan for six months,
which led to the couple honeymooning in Paris while he had two weeks leave, before they wed in Sydney.66 | bridetobe.com.au
