RETURN TO ITALY
Chef Daniel Southern
created a menu that
featured seared
scallops and superbly
tender beef, and The
White Tree band got
everybody dancing
— the bride in
red-soled Louboutin
heels — until 1 am. The
newlyweds spent the
night at Melbourne’s
Grand Hyatt before
heading off on a
six-week romantic
honeymoon in Italy: ‘We
love Italy,’ says Anna,
‘and we wanted to go
back and see more.’

In a simple neutral and
white setting, the
inherent decorative
qualities of flowers,
their green stems, and
textured linens really
stand out.

THE PARTY BEGINS The couple
happily abandoned tradition in many
aspects of their wedding: they were
a bridal party of two, and held both
their ceremony and reception in chic
Melbourne bistro, Comme, because
they wanted to celebrate
immediately after the ceremony. As
she climbed the votive-candle-lit
stairs with her father to the
ceremony in the restaurant, Anna
says the smiling faces of family and
friends distracted her and she kept
tripping on the hem of her dress.

ROWS OF ROSES ‘I wanted an
elegant wedding, so kept to a white
theme, as the people would add the
colour,’ says the bride. She left the
choice of flowers to her friend Laura
Van Zhijl, of Floral Conceptions, and
the square vases of roses and other
white blooms looked uniformly
beautiful on square mirror tiles down
the centres of the long tables.
