Tarren Cornford & David Evans

PHOTOGRAPHY: GM PHOTOGRAPHICSTarren and David, both 28, live and work in the Middle East. On a holiday in the Maldives, five years after meeting
at a New Years Eve party, David organised for Tarren to have a spa treatment. When they returned to their room, it
was strewn with rose petals, and David proposed with a Tiffany necklace — they later went shopping for a ring.IN A WHIRL Tarren says organising
the wedding in Australia meant she
made all the major bookings within
a few days on a trip home from the
Middle East. Then much of the
detail came together online. As a
wedding photographer, she had
taken note of elements she loved in
other people’s celebrations. She
sourced dragées for bomboniere,
for example, from a Milan-based
specialist. She commissioned a
logo incorporating David’s and
her names, in Arabic style,
which she used on
otherwise simple navy
and ivory invitations.IDEAS COLLECTIVE
‘So many of my
clients gave me
inspiration,’ says Tarren
of making her own wedding
gown choice. ‘I’ve been lucky
enough to see and photograph so
many unbelievable weddings and
took little pieces from all the
dresses I loved.’ She added a
crystal-studded belt to her
strapless, trumpet skirted Monique
Lhuillier ‘Peony’ gown in silk
jacquard, because, she says, ‘I like
a little bling’. The intimate St
Augustine’s church was decorated
with David Austin roses on the aisle,
and an arrangement of roses, sweet
peas, ranunculus and green foliage
at the altar.Dining by candlelight
makes for a romantic
wedding celebration.
