Jen, 25, is from America’s southwest, and was studying in Sydney when she was at a concert and a mutual friend
introduced her to Dom, 26, who had studied at Purdue University in Indiana. Within a short time he worked out
that breakfast was her favourite meal of the day. Over champagne breakfast in bed, he proposed, and she said yes.

For a clean and crisp
wedding day look, wear
minimal jewellery and
sparkle. The perfect
complement to a
relaxed, low-key
celebration.

ENGAGING EASE Jen shopped for
her dress in Los Angeles, had her
kitchen tea at home in Arizona,
bought suits and bridesmaids’
dresses online, and reveled in her
Sydney harbourside wedding
venues. ‘Our wedding theme was
classic, simple and effortless. For
the entire day we wanted everything
to be low-key, fun and beautiful. Our
wedding colours were white, white
and navy, and we picked
locations that were
gorgeous on their own,’
says this down-to-
earth bride.

HOMING IN Jen and
her family — many of
whom had flown in
from the US or elsewhere
overseas — got ready at
Dom’s family home. Dom got ready
at his uncle’s home, where his late
father had grown up. ‘It was a really
special experience for both of us,’
recalls Jen. She says that the most
memorable part of their ceremony
was ‘Getting to walk down the aisle
to a mariachi band playing Elvis
— can’t get much better than that!’
