(Elle) #1
In the world of adventurous endeavours,
we think this one has scaled the highest peak

  • as far as crafters are concerned, at least.
    Courtney Kennedy, of Always Rooney
    (www.alwaysrooney.com), came up with this
mountain-range pincushion idea and is happy
for us to pass on her making instructions to
    Homespunreaders – thanks Courtney.
    Here’s how it’s done:
    Materials:
    White felt or fleece; grey felt; embroidery thread;
    sewing machine; pillow stuffing.

Make up:
Cut out grey felt shapes according to your
planned finished pincushion. (Courtney cut two
matching bigger shapes and then two triangles
for the pincushion’s sides.) Cut out white felt
or fleece triangles with roughly cut angles on
the bottom and rough-stitch these to your grey
felt pieces, using embroidery thread. Cut out
a grey felt rectangle for the pincushion base.
Sew all pieces together, leaving the base until
last and leaving one side open. Stuff the
pincushion full and sew the last edge closed.
