Referring to the face pattern, mark
the facial features. Backstitch the
mouth in six strands of red embroidery
thread and sew a small red heart button
(or felt shape) in place.

Appliqué the face in place around
the bottom from ear to ear. Stuff it
lightly through the top opening. Repeat
Step 14 to fit the eyes.

Appliqué the hair in place, stuffing
it lightly, then add the crown with
no stuffing.

Sew on two red beads for earrings,
and use four strands of black
embroidery thread to work two straight-
stitch eyelashes beside each eye.

Appliqué the arms, then add the
hands, stuffing them all lightly.

Cut a 4.5cm (1^33 ⁄ 4 in) length of
bamboo skewer for the wand and
sew it in place at an angle over the
Queen’s left hand. Anchor it in three
places – the top, bottom and halfway
