FLOWER OF THE MONTH

IN YOUR CORNER
When I see something in a magazine that
I like, I always fold the corner of the page
so that I can easily refer back to it. My
husband saw my December copy of H&G
and asked whether I was making a paper
Christmas tree, because I had folded so
many pages! Thank you for a consistently
informative and inspiring magazine that
continually motivates me.
Deborah Bowden, Rosebud, Victoria

BUTTERFLY EFFECTS
I was delighted to see a butterfl y chair in
your November issue (Wonder Weaves).
This was the fi rst furniture my husband
and I bought when we got married 62
years ago. We had two butterfl y chairs
with black frames and blue canvas covers,
and loved them. In fact, one of our
daughters still has the original frames.
I must show her the trendy printed covers

H&G, you’ve restored my sanity! I was expecting more bills
in the letterbox but instead, there was my December issue.
I opened it immediately, intending to just fl ick through the
magazine. Two hours later, a er solving all my Christmas
problems, I returned to mundane housework with a spring
in my step. Thank you for an extra-special edition.
Gill Davis, Deakin, ACT

now available. I also loved your exciting
array of cushions in the same story

  • such a wonderful collection of colours
and patterns. A‹ er seeing these, I’ve
decided to brighten up our home.

TAKING THE INITIATIVE
I was struck by the story entitled Bush
Therapy in your September issue. At fi rst
glance I thought, ‘A lovely home, but way
out of my reach’. Then I started reading
and found that the owners had done the
rendering and landscaping themselves,
built and upholstered furniture, restored
old fi nds and pulled this family home
into the shape it is in now. I’ve realised
it’s not about having lots of money but
a desire to use your initiative and get up
and do something. Many thanks for such
an encouraging and inspiring feature.
Susan Kippe, Coolgardie, NSW
