Project Devonport Aquatic Centre (SPLASH)Aptly named SPLASH by the public, the aquatic centre consists of a new eight lane 25 metre indoor pool, a learn to swim warm water exercise pool
and a leisure water centre with play features. The main pool hall is supported on 16 large pre-cast columns with steel framed curved triangular trusses
spanning 26 metres between the columns. The compound curves and large spans created challenges that needed innovative solutions and resourceful
sub-contractors, all of which contributed to the outstanding success of the project.
