Project Medical Sciences 2The project commenced with demolition of the pre-existing warehouses. The new building comprises seven levels including a car park, a teaching
floor, office accommodation, a biomedical research facility and an animal and plant level totalling 9,250 square metres of floor space. The most
striking feature is the façade. A concrete lattice shading frame across the building with a contour form provides secondary sun shading based on
Hobart’s topography. Mountain peaks and water formations have been mapped using a combination of steel and colour glazing.
