Project Birubi Point Surf Life Saving ClubThe project involved the demolition of an existing dilapidated club building and the construction of a new facility. It is the culmination of extensive
consultation between council, state and federal governments, the Aboriginal Land Council and the local Woromi community to achieve a modern
surf life-saving club which is sympathetic to the existing environment. The first of the two buildings contains a function room, bar, equipment store,
amenities, first aid room, patrol tower and observation deck. The second is the community building containing a café, commercial kitchen and a
caretaker’s residence. The high level finishes include acoustic timber ceilings and polished concrete floors.
