You must be one of verY few people in
AustrAliA with A blAckmArket killswitch
tell us A little About it?

For so long I dreamt of owning a Killswitch just
because they look so different to any other bike
around. I bought it around mid 2013 not really
knowing what I’d use it for but I just knew I would
love it.

whAt sort of riding do You generAllY get
up to on the killswitch?

I kind of just have it sitting there as a spare bike,
as it seems one of my bikes always has something
going on, it’s so good just having the Killswitch
sitting there just in case. I’ve used it on some
really rough downhill tracks (including Thredbo)
it’s perfect for any kind of dirt jump / pumptrack
riding even the BMX track or skatepark if you
like. All you have to do is change the suspension
settings and tyres and you can literally do any
discipline of riding.

we sAw You At the cAnnonbAll festivAl
slAlom on it, how did it hold up there?

remy morton is more known for his downhill
exploits, (in fact he’s recently been signed to the
hutchinson united team) but his instagram and
snapchat followers will know he also has a love
of dirt jumping. early last year, by chance i spied
him aboard this carefully built killswitch. i just
had to ask him about it.

I’m not sure if it was the best bike for it or not by
being single speed but I was definitely having the
most fun I could by riding it!

the killswitch comes As A frAme onlY
so we’re not tAlking About A stock
build here. wAs there much thought in
the build, we’re sensing A bit of A bmx
influence?

When I built this bike I wanted it be the bike I
dreamt of owning and it definitely took a while to
set it up how I wanted , but was worth the wait for
sure. It seems to be fairly BMX brand orientaded
when I look at it now but I really just thought it
would fit the mould of the bike.

profile bmx crAnks seem A little over
the top though, You must reAllY Abuse
this bike.

I don’t think they are over the top at all really
they don’t weigh much more then a standard mtb
crankset and for a single speed set up I think it’s
a lot more bennificial running cranks that are
actually made to run single speed. It also allows
you to run a bmx sprocket which has a lot more
size/ colour veriety then most MTB companies.

tell us A little About the suspension?

RockShox Suspension that NSDynamics set up
especially for how I wanted the bike to feel. A little
stiff with 110mm forks and 100mm on the rear
shock.

whAt’s Your fAvourite thing About the
bike?

Not one single noise, even when you’re riding the
roughest downhill tracks the only thing that you
can ever hear is the hub. No chain slap. nothing.
Single speed bliss.

whAt’s the next upgrAde?

I think I’ve set it up how I want for now as I’ve had it
for coming on two years I’ve changed most things
that I didn’t like since the original build.

where will we see You next AboArd the
killswitch?

Unfortunately I don’t think i’ll be able to ride it
much coming into these next few years because of
commitments I’ve made to race downhill and I won’t
really be home much to ride it, but we’ll see what
happens! I don’t think I can ever see myself selling
this bike as it has way too much sentimental value in
it, and every time I ride it I have the sickest time!
