New to Australia, Urge helmets are soon to land
and we really like the look of the new Archi-
Enduro full face lid. While offering the same
protection to the Down O Matic (Urge’s down hill
helmet), the Urge is a little more comfortable
with greater ventilation, lower weight (820g), and
a slightly shorter back so wearing a backpack is
more comfortable. They come in two sizes, but
are provided with different thickness pads to get
the best fit.Urge also make the Veggie model, which uses
a natural linen fibre, although that bumps the
weight up to 960g.Price: $TBD

Topeak have added to their tool line, with
more highly useful tools for the shop or home
mechanic. It’s not only light weight parts that have
specific torque requirements when fitting and
adjusting – just about every part on your bike has
a recommended maximum force. Topeak have two
preset torque tools for 5Nm and 6Nm, and both
come with 4, 5 and 6mm allen key heads plus
T25 Torx heads. This should cover most uses for
stems, handlebars and seatposts, probably the
parts that get adjusted the most. Best of all, the
sockets are kept in the handle, minimizing the
chance that you will lose them.
