CHILLI PEPPERS
Capsaicin, the phytochemical that
makes peppers spicy, has the ability to
minimize fat cells before they fully form,
according to research from the Journal of
Agricultural and Food Chemistry. What’s
long been known is its ability to induce
thermogenesis, the process of increasing
your metabolic rate by generating heat
through energy expenditure – fat burning!

SOY
Soy can protect your lean physique
because it contains an isoflavone
called genistein, shown to reduce the
size and number of fat cells produced.
Much discussed for its oestrogen-like
capabilities, these same compounds are
responsible for soy’s impressive slew
benefits – from protecting cardiovascular
health and promoting healthy cholesterol
levels to preventing cancer.
