WORKOUT INSPIRATION?Ifirst
started working out in a gym when I was 17
years old. My inspiration came from when I
picked up my f irst copy of Oxygen magazine
and saw a photo of a fitness model who had
the most amazing physique I had ever seen. I
decided that ‘one day’ I wanted to look exac tly
like her.
CARDIO OR WEIGHTS? Cardio. I love
the mind to muscle connection that is created
during a weights sessions, and the feeling of
accomplishment that comes with tracking
the weight used in each exercise and then
increasing your maximum lifts.
FAVOURITE TRAINING MOVE? I
really enjoy doing burpee pull-ups. I enjoy
the feeling of pushing up from the ground
then using an explosive movement to shift my
whole body upwards to what feels like 100m
above sea level.
WHAT IS YOUR WORKOUT PLAN
LIKE? I train at my local gym five days a week
and complete four Crossf it sessions at my local
Crossfit box.
FITNESS TIP? Write out a weekly plan for
your training regime ever y Sunday night. If you
list out the dates, times, location(s) and session
details you are more likely to stick with it.
FAVOURITE QUOTE?“Just do it!”

WORKOUT INSPIRATION?As a
teenager I developed anorexia nervosa,
which I struggled with for almost a decade. I
developed not only an unhealthy relationship
with food, I was also exercise obsessed.
Although I pushed myself to the point of
hospitalisation, falling to 38 kilos, I felt like I
had unlimited energy. My body confidence
was zero; I loathed my appearance and took
pleasure in my emancipated image. Over time,
my confidence began to grow and I started
picturing a real future for myself. I joined a
gym with four months before comp, and a goal
to put on 5kg. The training I loved, it was the
over eating, and forcing myself not to burn it
off that was hard. But I did it! I am very proud
to say that I have successfully competed in my
first figure competition in March 2015, with a
few more to come this year.
WEIGHTS OR CARDIO? I used to be
a cardio girl - anything to try to burn calories,
now I much prefer weights as I want to sculpt
my physique and grow my muscle mass.
FAVOURITE TRAINING MOVE? I’ve
recently discovered glute stomps on the pull
down machine and I also love sumo squats for
the same reason, the feeling like you are about
to bust an artery on those heavy reps!
WORKOUT PLAN? At the moment I am
in prepso I weight train six times per week.

WORKOUT INSPIRATION? At the
beginning of 2013 I seriously started to work
out as I was depressed and unhappy with a
lot of things in my life. The minute I started
working out and focusing on changing
my lifestyle I was surprised at how happy
I became.
ROLE MODEL? Sophie Guidolin – she
is a mum and a fitness model. Her efforts to
stay fit and happy are incredible.
CARDIO OR WEIGHTS? I used to be
more cardio but now I am addicted to both. I
see results from cardio and weights.
FAVOURITE CHEAT MEAL? A
packet of salt and vinegar chips once a week.
FAVOURITE NON-CHEAT FOOD?
Broccoli! I have it every day for lunch and
dinner and I cannot get enough of it!
FAVOURITE WORKOUT MUSIC?
Upbeat music like dubstep or trap, the bass
always keeps me going!
ADVICE FOR GYM NEWBIES?
Pretend no one else is in the gym and do
whatever you want.
HOW DO YOU BALANCE
CAREER/SCHOOL/FAMILY/
FITNESS? Easy peasy! Gym before and
after work – if work stresses me out, I know
that the gym is waiting for me to release it.
