ROLE MODEL? Tegan Campbell. I had the
chance to do a 12 week dream body challenge
with her in early 2014 before she became a mum
herself. Also Kirri Wood who is ver y enthusiastic
and energetic in helping ladies learn the art of
posing for comps.
WEIGHTS OF CARDIO? Weights are
just so important for ladies but I love the effect
cardio can have on clearing your mind, so both.
FAVOURITE CHEAT FOOD? I love food
in general, good bad and ugly! However, I try
not to indulge too much as I know the massive
ef fec t it can have on your wellbeing. Pizza and
pastries and cakes are a definite weak spot. And
Thai food.
FAVOURITE NON-CHEAT FOOD?
Sweet potato! I can’t get enough of it.
WORKOUT PLAN? I workout around
five times a week and split body parts. I always
work my legs twice a week too. In of f-season
my cardio is a lot of walking outside with
my children or pet dogs. Comp prep involves
some treadmill interval running, HIIT sessions
with lots of lunges, box jumps, step-up type
activities, incline walking and the rowing
machine.
TIME OF DAY YOU WORKOUT? After
school drop of f, without fail, but also in the late
evening when comp prepping.

ROLE MODEL? Larissa Reis. I remember
seeing photos of her when I first started weight
training. She looked so confident and strong, I
wanted to feel like that!
CARDIO OR WEIGHTS? I do enjoy both
but weights would have to be my favourite.
Nothing beats the feeling of a good pump and
hitting PBs in the gym!
FAVOURITE TRAINING MOVE?
Squats for sure. I love how they leave me
feeling sore for days af ter, lets me know they’re
working.
FITNESS TIP? Make sure you’re eating a
lifestyle, not a diet. Your body is the only place
you have to live, so take care of it.
FAVOURITE PHYSICAL FEATURE?
My legs because I worked hard for them.
HOW DO YOU BALANCE YOUR
LIFE? I have a great boss and supportive
friends and family. I believe if something is
important to you, you will make time.
HOW DO YOU RELAX? I take a nice
long bath with a green tea and some relaxing
music.
ADVICE FOR GYM NEWBIES? Simply
stay consistent and believe in yourself. It won’t
happen overnight but just remember everyone
starts somewhere!
